Elton John, Beck and Fabrizio Moretti of the Strokes are among the artists to cover Eagles of Death Metal’s “I Love You All the Time” in support of the Sweet Stuff Foundation’s Play it Forward initiative. “He turned it into this glorious animal; this beast,” EODM’s Josh Homme tells Rolling Stone of the John cover. Previous artists to contribute covers include My Morning Jacket, Kings of Leon, Florence and the Machine with the Maccabees, Imagine Dragons, Savages, Ed Harcourt, Dean Ween Group, Chelsea Wolfe, Pearl Jam’s Matt Cameron, Nada Surf, Jimmy Eat World and dozens more. All 13 new versions of “I Love You All the Time” at the band’s Play it Forward site. All proceeds from the Play it Forward Initiative benefit the families of the victims of November 2015 terror attacks in Paris; Eagles of Death Metal were playing at the city’s Bataclan at the time of the attack, with 89 people killed at the venue.
