Steven Tyler has opened up on his relationship with Joe Perry and says he owes a heavy personal debt to the guitarist. Speaking with Rolling Stone, the rock legend said that despite their trials in the past, he couldn’t be where he is without Perry’s help. “One of the biggest things we’ve all learned is, ‘I can’t do this alone.’ I could never be the guy you’re talking to if it wasn’t for the five of us sitting in the kitchen in a barn up in Lake Sunapee, the summer of ’71, deciding to move to Boston. No matter what he has said recently about jealousy, I couldn’t be here making this [solo country album] if it wasn’t for Joe Perry. It’s a catch-22, but if you slow down enough, you get to see it,” Tyler explained. He also explained why his band has a more “female energy.” “Well, you’ve listened to Aerosmith – there’s a lot of female energy in that. If you’re looking for me to tell you I’m coming out of the closet, I can’t. I’m just saying that with Paul McCartney, there’s a lot of female energy in his melody. And John Lennon, I would say, there’s more male energy. I kind of always felt that.” Copyright(c) 2016 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
