Bruce Springsteen canceled a concert in North Carolina after the state’s governor signed a bill requiring public bathrooms to post signs discriminatory to LGBT people. The Boss said he’s standing in solidarity with the LGBT community by boycotting the state. “Some things are more important than a rock show, and this fight against prejudice and bigotry, which is happening as I write, is one of them,” Springsteen said. “It is the strongest means I have for raising my voice in opposition to those who continue to push us backwards instead of forwards.” The new law requires individuals to use the bathroom corresponding to the gender listed on their birth certificate. Springsteen was scheduled to perform at Greensborough’s Coliseum on Sunday. Over 15,000 ticketholders were eligible for refunds following the cancelation. Copyright(c) 2016 RTTNews.com.
