Robin Zander of Cheap Trick says that he’d “love” to fill in for AC/DC fronter Brian Johnson, who cannot finish the band’s current tour due to health problems. Speaking with Rolling Stone, Zander said “I’d love to do that, but I’d want the blessing of Brian.” “I wouldn’t go there as a slap in the face to him. But if he said, ‘Go ahead,’ I would do it. And I’d donate the money to somebody,” he added. Guns N’ Roses fronter Axl Rose has been rumored to be replacing Johnson on the tour. Neither AC/DC nor Rose have confirmed the collab, although they were seen leaving the same rehearsal space in Atlanta. AC/DC recently canceled a slate of shows after Johnson was advised by doctors to stop touring or face “total hearing loss.” Rose has since been rumored as Johnson’s replacement.
