Mudcrutch, Tom Petty’s pre-Heartbreakers band, has released a new song, “Beautiful World.” “It’s a beautiful world, so hold me tight,” they sing on “Beautiful World,” later adding, “So much before, so much behind me in this world of mystery.” “Beautiful World” is taken off of Mudcrutch 2, the band’s sophomore album, which will be released on May 20 via Reprise Records. The album will also feature the recently released lead single “Trailer.” Mudcrutch 2, the follow-up to 2008’s Mudcrutch, will be supported with a full U.S. tour that gets underway in May. The band begins their first national tour in support of the record at Denver’s Ogden Theater on May 26 with a number of additional appearances planned across the U.S. throughout May and June.
