Ringo Starr has joined the continually growing list of artists cancelling events in North Carolina due to their highly controversial anti-LGBT law. Starr announced that he has cancelled his June 18 performance at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre. In a press release, the former Beatles drummer said, “I’m sorry to disappoint my fans in the area, but we need to take a stand against this hatred. Spread peace and love.” The new law revises North Carolina’s controversial HB2, which has been called the most “anti-LGBT” legislation in the nation. It has made it illegal for a transgender individual to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with. Similarly, towns can no longer prevent businesses from discriminating against customers based on sexual orientation or gender identity. Copyright(c) 2016 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
