Mick Fleetwood, Stewart Copeland, Tommy Lee and Taylor Hawkins joined Chad Smith, drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and actor Will Ferrell for a benefit in Los Angeles on Friday, April 29. The Red Hot Benefit Comedy + Music Show & Quinceanera benefitted Cancer for College (Ferrell’s pick) and Silverlake Conservatory of Music (Smith’s choice). Funny or Die, posted video of the event which features the drummers paired off and competing in drum-offs. “I have only one great regret in life and it’s that I never actually celebrated my quinceanera,” Ferrell said when the show was announced. “I’d like to think it was just a simple oversight by my mother, but there has been a void inside me for many years. Growing up on the mean streets of Irvine, California, I have vivid memories of all my friends celebrating their quinceanera.” In 2014, Ferrell hooked up for a drum off against Smith on The Tonight Show raised money for Cancer for College then as well.
