Though Neil Young has said recently that he doesn’t mind Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump using his song “Rockin’ In the Free World” at campaign events, he says that he still is not a fan of his politics. “No, I didn’t like that idea. Because of the misogyny and the racism,” Young said of Trump using the song during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “Those two key facts are something you can’t really ignore.” A presentative for Young issued a statement last June that Trump was not authorized to use the track. “The fact that I said I was for Bernie Sanders and then [Trump] didn’t ask me to use ‘Rockin’ in the Free World’ doesn’t mean that he can’t use it,” Young told Reuters. “He actually got a license to use it. I mean, he said he did and I believe him. So I got nothing against him. You know, once the music goes out, everybody can use it for anything.” Young, a Canadian citizen, has publically supported Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders. Copyright(c) 2016 RTTNews.com.
