David Bowie’s art collection is set to be put on display and auctioned off, according to Rolling Stone. Around 400 of Bowie’s personal items will be part of a touring exhibition titled Bowie/Collector. The exhibit is scheduled to start in London on July 20 and will stay there until August 9. Then the exhibit will move to Los Angeles and remain there from September 20-21 and then move to New York and stay there from September 26-29. Lastly it will be transferred to Hong Kong and will remain there from October 12-15. “David’s art collection was fueled by personal interest and compiled out of passion,” said a spokesperson for Bowie’s estate. “He always sought and encouraged loans from the collection and enjoyed sharing the works in his custody. Though his family are keeping certain pieces of particular significance, it is now time to give others the opportunity to appreciate – and acquire – the art and objects he so admired.” The items are set to be auctioned off over a two-day period on November 10 and 11 at Sotheby’s in London after it’s there for a 10 day display.
