Sting is reentering the world of rock. The Police frontman turned solo artist has come forward with plans for a new album. Titled 57th & 9th, the record will feature Sting accompanied by guitarist Dominic Miller, drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, Jerry Fuentes and Diego Navaira. According to Rolling Stone and producer Martin Kierszenbaum, the album was created in an impulsive way, with most of the material being written in-studio and not prepared beforehand. Sting is declaring the album “rockier than anything I’ve done in awhile.” A statement echoed by Kierszenbaum released said, “I don’t think he’s rocked like this since Synchronicity.” A release date has not been announced for 57th and 9th, which will be Sting’s first album since 2013’s The Last Ship Copyright(c) 2016 RTTNews.com.
