U2 has revealed new details for their forthcoming release Songs of Experience. The album is currently slated for a release next fall and will follow their 2014 album Songs of Innocence. Along with the album release the band also announced plans for a supporting tour. Bono broke news of the new release and tour on the Spanish fan page U2 En Espana saying, “It’s not finished yet but you will like it. In terms of lyrics it is stronger than [1983 album] ‘WAR’, it has more clarity. The second part of the tour is for 2017. You might see a few things in September or October though.” The band also made recent headlines when they released a new teaser-trailer for Innocence and Experience – Live in Paris, their new Hamish Hamilton-directed concert film. The new clip features live snippets of U2 anthems “Vertigo” and “Beautiful Day,” along with Patti Smith’s “People Have Power.” Both Smith and Eagles of Death Metal make guest spots during the concert film, taped across two nights at the AccorHotels Arena.
