David Bowie and Radiohead are among the top contenders for this year’s Mercury Prize. The prize is given to the best British album of the year. It has been an annual tradition since 1992. This year, Bowie’s posthumous album Blackstar and Radiohead’s A Moon Shaped Pool have made the shortlist. Ten other albums were on the shortlist, including Anohni’s Hoplessness. The judges who will determine who will win the Mercury Prize stated, “This is music to make sense of our unsettling times – heartfelt, angry, thoughtful and thrilling.
