The soundtrack for David Bowie’s 1983 film Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence will be reissued later this year. Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence sees Bowie play British solider Major Jack Celliers, who is held captive in a Japanese prison camp during World War II. He develops an intimate relationship with one of the guards, Captain Yonoi, played by Ryuichi Sakamoto, who won a BAFTA award for Best Film Music for the film’s score. The soundtrack reissue is due out on October 21 and is the latest release in Milan Records’ Nicolas Winding Refn Presents series.
