A new Revolver tribute album is in the works. The album will feature several well known artists doing covers of their favorite Beatles songs from the milestone album. Among those involved are James Taylor, Cheap Trick, Living Colour and numerous other big names. The seminal 1966 Beatles album will be celebrating its 50th anniversary. Stern told Rolling Stone, “Revolver to me is the best album the Beatles ever did; there was nothing like it when that album came out,” Stern said of the album on his show.” On a recent broadcast, Stern played 15 second snippets from different tracks of the album. Among those was the first of the session recordings, Cheap Trick covering “She Said She Said.” According to Billboard the album was recorded in various locations. Some artists recorded at Stern’s SiriusXM studio in New York. Others chose their own location, such as Joe Bonamassa who recorded “Taxman” at Liverpool’s Cavern Club-a regular venue for early Beatles shows. The album turned 50 August 5 of this year. No official release date has been set for the tribute album. Copyright(c) 2016 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
