The iconic punk band Ramones will have a street named after them in New York City. The borough of Queens will rename the street that intersects with 67th Avenue and 110th street “Ramones Way.” The intersection in Forest Hills is located in front of the main entrance of Forest Hills High School. This is the school the founding members, Dee Dee, Johnny, Joey and Tommy all attended. The proposal was initiated by New York City Council Member Karen Koslowitz. The idea is to recognize the band for having a seismic influence on New York City. Ten years earlier, Ramones frontman Joey Ramone had the street by the iconic CBGBs bar named “Joey Ramone Place” in his honor. The unveiling of the name change in Queens will take place on October 23. Copyright(c) 2016 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
