Mick “Woody” Woodmansey recently completed his memoir. The former drummer of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars discusses Bowie’s revolutionary unique music. Woodmansey played on what are arguably the four most influential Bowie albums-The Man Who Sold the World, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, and Aladdin Sane. Woodmansey credits part of the reason these albums were so artistically developed was the closeness of the group. During the early years, “money was so tight” he tells NME, that they all lived together in Bowie’s flat. This was a period of “intense creativity,” Woodmansey says. Woodmansey tells in his book that he was about to take a “sensible factory job,” when he got a phone call from Bowie, which “changed everything.” The drummer started working on his book, Spiders from Mars: My Life with Bowie in 2014. The book is expected to be published in January of next year. Copyright(c) 2016 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
