Sting was a guest on the November 10 episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. He performed the song “I Can’t Stop Thinking About You” off his 57th & 9th album, which was released on November 11. Sting was backed by a band that included Dominic Miller on guitar and Vinnie Colaiuta on drums. The singer revealed during the interview portion of the show that he had a great deal of difficulty writing the song. He revealed to the host that he began with only a song structure, but had trouble writing the lyrics. Sting said that he would, “lock myself out on the terrace in the freezing cold, and I wouldn’t be allowed to go in the house until I’d finished a lyric. Sting also revealed that meditation helped to inspire the title of the album. During his walks to work, he would do a little mediation on that corner as he waited to cross the street.
