An angry letter from John Lennon to Paul McCartney has sold at auction for $30,000. The letter is not dated, but it is believed to have been penned in 1971 and finds Lennon blasting his bandmate for what he felt was unfair treatment towards his wife, Yoko Ono. Lennon penned the letter in response to one that he received from McCartney’s wife Linda, who was unhappy with some comments that Lennon made to the press regarding the breakup of the Beatles. Lennon expressed his annoyance with Paul and Linda, stating, “I hope you realize what s- you and the rest of my ‘kind and unselfish’ friends laid on Yoko and me, since we’ve been together.” Lennon also stated to Linda McCartney, “I don’t resent your husband – I’m sorry for him. I know the Beatles are ‘quite nice people’ – I’m one of them – they’re also just as big bastards as anyone else – so get off your high horse!” Copyright(c) 2016 RTTNews.com.
