A series of concerts is being planned by former collaborators of David Bowie to honor the late music icon and raise money for charity. The Celebrating David Bowie concert series will kick off at the O2 Arena in London on January 8, which would have been Bowie’s 70th birthday. That show will be followed by a performance at Manhattan’s Terminal 5 on January 10, the 1-year anniversary of Bowie’s death. Performances are also planned for The Wiltern in Los Angeles on January 25, the Sydney Opera House on January 29, as well as a February 2 show in Tokyo. “Band members, friends, and a massive ensemble of top recording & touring musicians from around the world are getting together for a one-time only series of global goodwill concerts, in aid of local charities,” according to a statement about the concert series. Mike Garson, Earl Slick, Adrian Belew, Mark Plati, Gail Ann Dorsey, Sterling Campbell, Zachary Alford, Holly Palmer, and Emm Gryer are all set to perform. Copyright(c) 2016 RTTNews.com.
