Joe Walsh was presented with the Founders Award at the Museum of Pop Culture on December 8. The award was presented to the veteran rocker by Ringo Starr. “I love the man,” Starr said, according to the Seattle Times. “Joe and I have known each other a long time, and probably longer than either of us can remember. Because we were both taking lots of medication. Now that we are both medication free, we remember everything.” Walsh also took part in an all-star jam session performance of his James Gang single “Funk #49.” He was joined onstage by Dave Grohl, Paul Rodgers, Todd Rundgren, Robert Randolph and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, among others. While the evening was about paying tribute to Walsh, it also served as a charity event to raise money for the museum’s educational programs. The event raised a total of $1.2 million.
