Journey received the most fan votes for the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. The group has led the fan vote since the announcement of the inductees. In a statement on the Hall’s website, they summarized the voting fans. The ballots were sent to “more than 600 historians, members of the music industry and artists-including every living Rock Hall inductee.” Rounding off the top five receiving the most fan votes in order are Electric Light Orchestra, Yes, Pearl Jam, and the Cars. Both Kiss and Chicago have been inducted within the four years that the fan vote has been active.
