Tony Iommi has revealed that the lump that was recently removed from his throat was benign. There were concerns that the lump could potentially be cancerous, following the rocker’s previous battle with lymphoma. The Black Sabbath guitarist told Planet Rock that, “They found a lump at the back of my sinus in the throat and we had to have it checked in case it may have been cancerous. But it turns out it wasn’t, which I found out on Christmas Day, which is brilliant!” Iommi also announced this week that he composed a new piece of music for the choir at the UK’s Birmingham Cathedral. The piece, titled “How Good It Is,” features the metal legend performing on acoustic guitar alongside the vocal ensemble. The piece will make its debut at Birmingham’s Genting Arena on February 2 and February 4 and Tony spoke on the piece saying: “It’s great to be involved with the Cathedral and doing something for it,” he said. “When Catherine mentioned it, it felt like a nice thing to do, to be able to give something to the city.” He adds: “It’s just a little bit different to SABBATH! We’ve done instrumental work before with orchestras and it’s something I enjoy doing. It’s completely different from any of the heavier stuff. This is a completely new piece of music and I’m really pleased with it.” Copyright(c) 2017 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
