Former AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has seemingly backpedaled on his previous comments about Axl Rose appearing as the band’s stand-in front man. Last year Rudd jabbed at Rose saying that he would likely turn down a gig with AC/DC if meant playing with Rose. “If Angus wanted me to play, then that’s up to him,” said Rudd at the time. “But I don’t really want to play with Axl Rose. I don’t really rate him.” Speaking this week with musicradar.com, however, Rudd noted that he has since been impressed with Rose: “I watched some clips the other day of Axl singing with the boys. I was surprised – it wasn’t too bad. I thought he did quite well, and that’s not an easy gig, mate. AC/DC is a tough gig for everyone in the band.” Copyright(c) 2017 RTTNews.com.
