The recording console upon which Pink Floyd recorded Dark Side of the Moon is reportedly headed to auction. At the time, the TG12345 MK IV console was housed at the legendary Abbey Road studios in London. The console will hit the auction block via New York’s Bonham’s on March 27. The winning bidder will be responsible for transporting the console from its current home, which is Prime Studios in Austria. It is listed as being in “excellent condition.” In addition to the console auction, Pink Floyd also made recent headlines when they confirmed plans to release individual albums from their collection Early Years: 1965-1972 as specific releases. The package was initially set to serve as a massive box set, but some fans balked at the hefty price tag associated with the entire purchase. The 27 disc box set was initially released last year and includes 12 hours of audio and over 14 hours of video. In a statement about the set the band says it gives “opportunity to hear the evolution of the band and witness their part in cultural revolutions from their earliest recordings and studio sessions to the years prior to the release of The Dark Side of the Moon, one of the biggest selling albums of all time.” Copyright(c) 2017 RTTNews.com.
