Don McLean’s ex-wife has reportedly secured a protective order against the “American Pie” legend. The 71 year old McLean pleaded guilty to domestic abuse charges filed in 2016 and his wife Patrisha McLean filed for divorce from him after 29 years of marriage. Part of the protective order is specifically targeted at social media, noting that McLean is to refrain from any contact with Patrisha online. She filed claims with the court claiming that McLean had logged into his own fan sites and started bashing her under a pseudonym. Patrisha filed divorce papers in Maine, citing “adultery, cruel and abusive treatment, and irreconcilable differences.” The McLeans have been married for 30 years.
