A new documentary about the Beatles will be released in UK theaters next month. The new film marks the 50th anniversary of their beloved Sgt. Pepper’s release and is titled It Was 50 Years Ago Today! The Beatles: Sgt Pepper & Beyond. The band’s estates have also confirmed a release date for a new re-release of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The reissue is set for release on May 26 and will include two-CD, two-LP and single-disc formats. A special six disc box set will also be available, which will include a 144-page hardcover book. The collections are planned to honor the 50th anniversary of the album and band’s home city of Liverpool has also commissioned a series of new visual art pieces that will commemorate each of the album’s classic songs.
