A new musical inspired by Bob Dylan has teased its official soundtrack. The new show, titled Girl From the North Country, is in the works from Conor McPherson, who is an Irish playwright and director. His previous works include the Tony-nominated Shining City and The Seafarer and the award-winning The Night Alive. “It works rather like a ritual or a church service in that there is dramatic dialogue, story and then you become airborne for a moment in the Bob Dylan music. It is very clever and unique,” said Matthew Warchus, artistic director of the Old Vic, the London theater where the show’s set to make its debut later this year. “There’s nothing really to compare it to.” The show marks a distinct break with tradition for Dylan, who is usually very stingy about granting permission to use his work. The last time he did was for the Twyla Tharp musical The Times They Are A-Changin’, which was both a critical and financial flop on Broadway. Copyright(c) 2017 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
