During their sold out Joshua Tree 2017 Tour stop in Pasadena, California, U2 dedicated one of their songs to the late Chris Cornell. Bono dedicated Joshua Tree’s “Running to Stand Still” to Cornell, who he called “a lion.” He also mentioned the late singer’s wife and children, calling them, “beautiful sweet souls.” Rolling Stone also reports that before U2 took the stage, the Rose Bowl’s speakers played Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” for the audience. Cornell died on May 17 shortly after a performance in Detroit. The Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled Cornell’s death as “suicide by hanging.” In a statement to CNN, Cornell’s widow, Vicky Cornell, said she became concerned for her husband’s well-being after he told her he took “an extra Ativan or two.” Copyright(c) 2017 RTTNews.com.
