Neil Young has announced that he will no longer host the Bridge School Benefit Concert. Young and his ex-wife Pegi Young have been holding the annual fundraiser for the past thirty years, but the concert will not be held this year. “Although I will continue in fund raising efforts, for personal reasons beginning this year I will no longer be hosting The Bridge School Concert,” Young wrote in an official statement. “I wish everyone the best as the school heads into the future. My heart is with each and every child we have had the honor to serve and those we will continue to serve, and your parents, siblings, and extended families. Thanks to you all for the honor of serving such a great mission.” Young also made headlines earlier this week, when it was revealed that one of his lost recording sessions is due to get a proper release. The album, which will be titled Hitchhiker, is scheduled to be released later this summer. The songs that comprise the new album were recorded on August 11, 1976. The session was done in one take with producer David Briggs while in Malibu. Over the next five years, Young released several songs from this session on various albums. However, the title track was not released until 2010 on the Le Noise album. Two songs from the ’76 session “Hawaii” and “Give Me Strength” have never been released. Copyright(c) 2017 RTTNews.com.
