U2 was joined by Patti Smith at the Paris stop of their Joshua Tree 30th anniversary tour for a performance of “Mothers of the Disappeared,” which featured Smith adding in lyrics from her 1988 single, “People Have the Power.” The powerful rendition of the track closed out the night. “I was dreaming in my dreaming/ of an aspect bright and fair,” Smith sang. “And my sleeping it was broken/ But my dream it lingered near.” Bono and Smith embraced onstage after finishing the set. Smith also performed “People Have the Power” with U2 two months earlier in London. The Paris show was U2’s latest stop on their tour, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their landmark 1987 release The Joshua Tree. The band will launch another North American leg September 3 in Detroit. Copyright(c) 2017 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
