The Rolling Stones’ 1967 psychedelic album Their Satanic Majesties Request turns 50 this year. To commemorate the golden anniversary, the group is releasing a deluxe version of the album. The new edition will be available on both vinyl and compact discs as well as stereo and mono pressings. The album has been remastered by Bob Ludwig and features original art by Michael Cooper, which has been restored for the deluxe release. Furthermore, concept images and photo shots that did not make the original cut have been added to a 20-page booklet that is included in the album. Released in December of 1967, in the wake of the iconic “summer of love,” the album came with a darker personal edge, being recorded at a time when Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Brian Jones were all dealing with legal issues regarding drug arrests. The album also followed in the wake of the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, which was released earlier in the year and inspired a broader look at what could be possible in an album. The album is set to be released on September 22. Copyright(c) 2017 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
