KISS delayed their encore at their concert at the Gretna Heritage Festival in Louisiana in order to lead the crowd in a reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance. “It’s always cool to love your country,” frontman Paul Stanley said, according to a report. The act of patriotism led to a mixed bag of responses from fans. One supporter tweeted, “KISS just stopped their concert to take a moment to thank the veterans and say the pledge of allegiance. Pretty damn cool.” While another wrote, “KISS made everyone do the pledge of allegiance before they would do an encore. That was the least rock and roll thing I’ve ever seen.” Pausing to recite the Pledge of Allegiance is something the rock band has been doing more of as of late on their current tour.
