The Scorpions will be honored by the City Council in Los Angeles. The German legends will be honored on October 6, which has been declared “Scorpions Day,” and will be recognized for their longtime ties to the area, including various albums recorded and shows played in and around L.A. “[They have] fifty-two years of excellence in rock ‘n’ roll, including making records in Los Angeles, the entertainment capital of the world,” said City Councilman Jose Huizar, who authored the resolution to honor the band. The band also made recent headlines when drummer James Kottak spoke on his dismissal from that band and says that he’s relieved for some time away: “The last year, I finally took . . . after thirty non-stop years of rock – thirty-five, actually – I just said, ‘Man, I need a break. I have to get away from this. I have to focus on James, make James healthy and get [myself] back to a hundred percent.’ ‘Cause even when you’re with a great band like the SCORPIONS, you do burn out. And I was fortunate to come out where I am now.” Copyright(c) 2017 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
