10 never-before-seen photos from Johnny Cash’s San Quentin Prison show in 1969 are now on display and available for purchase at Sonic Editions. The newly unearthed black and white photos show Cash and wife June Carter arriving at the prison, performing onstage and the inmates in the crowd clapping and cheering. “One time we were doing a television show and he was talking about playing San Quentin in 1958, and I said, ‘You didn’t have a voice that day, Cash!’ And he turned around like, ‘How the hell would you know?’ And I said, ‘I was there.’ It blew him backwards,” Merle Haggard, who was in the crowd during Cash’s 1958 performance at the prison, told Men’s Journal. The prints are available for purchase at $199.99. Copyright(c) 2017 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
