Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and Bee Gees co-founder Barry Gibb have both been selected to receive knighthoods as part of Queen Elizabeth’s annual New Year’s Honours. According to the official listing of New Year’s Honours recipients, Starr will receive an MBE for his “services to music.” “It’s great! It’s an honour and a pleasure to be considered and acknowledged for my music and my charity work, both of which I love. Peace and love,” Starr stated to the BBC. Gibb will receive the “Knights Bachelor” for his services to music and charity.
