A documentary film focused on the Beatles’ 1968 tour of India is scheduled for worldwide release this fall. Fittingly titled The Beatles in India, the feature-length film explores the band’s journey to India to study Transcendental Meditation, the songs they composed at the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s ashram in Rishikesh, and how these eventually evolved into the White Album. The film is directed by Emmy award winning Canadian photographer and filmmaker Paul Saltzman, who was present in the ashram. He captured some of the most famous and intimate photographic portraits of The Beatles half a century ago. Reynold D’Silva will produce the documentary for Sunrise Films, Ren/oir Pictures and Silva Screen. D’Silva said in a press release that the idea of the film has been with him since the 1990s. The Beatles in India promises “rarely seen footage, including in-depth interviews with the band,” Screen Daily reports. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
