Roger Waters has offered up his new anti-Trump anthem “Supremacy.” The track blasts the current American President for seemingly hedging on racial undercurrents to foment fear and consolidate power. Waters recites part of Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish’s “The Penultimate Speech of the ‘Red Indian’ to the White Man,” on the track over music by Le Trio Joubran. “After the relics are gone/ Where, oh white master, are you taking my people … and yours?” he sings on the new track. “Le Trio Joubran and I have collaborated to perform an excerpt from an epic poem by the great Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish,” Waters states on Facebook. “On the surface it narrates the last speech of the Native American to The White Man, but it speaks also to Darwish’s beloved Palestine, and its indigenous people, in fact to all victims of settler colonialism everywhere.” Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com.
