Glenn Hughes has revealed that he will only be performing Deep Purple material during his upcoming U.S. tour this summer. The first leg of the tour will begin August 25 in Westbury, N.Y. and will wrap up September 22 in Tarrytown. Hughes, popularly known as the “voice of rock,” said he is excited for the upcoming tour. “I first toured ‘Classic Deep Purple Live’ in Australia and New Zealand last year and it went down like a storm. We’re also touring the show throughout South America in April, and international festivals throughout the summer. By the time we tour the U.S., then the U.K. in October, we’ll be on fire,” he stated. Hughes will handle lead vocals and bass guitar and will be accompanied by Soren Andersen (guitar), Jesper Bo Hansen (keyboards) and Fer Escobedo (drums). A Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee, Hughes is currently the frontman for rock super group Black Country Communion.
