A collection of previously unheard songs from Gene Clark will be released this summer. The new set, titled Gene Clark Sings for You, will be released on June 15. Simultaneously, the self-titled album by the band the Rose Garden — which included contributions by Clark — will be reissued with 16 bonus tracks, including single versions, rehearsal tracks and live cuts. Clark was a founding member of the Byrds and a key songwriter on the band’s first few albums. The singer and songwriter also collaborated with bands such as Dillard & Clark; Gene Clark & the Gosdin Brothers; McGuinn, Clark & Hillman. Later, he was the duet partner of Carla Olson (The Textones). The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee died in 1991 at age 46 after years of substance abuse. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com.
