A documentary that tells the story of Lynyrd Skynyrd will premiere on August 18 on Showtime. The film, titled Lynyrd Skynyrd: If I Leave Here Tomorrow, was directed by Stephen Kijak. The film features the southern rock band’s origin from Jacksonville, Floria, the plane crash that killed singer Ronnie Van Zant and guitarist Steve Gaines, the use of the Confederate flag, and their successful return in the ’80s. The documentary is mainly narrated by guitarist Gary Rossington, the only founding member of the group who is still there. The documentary also features several interviews and the band’s archival material. Those interviewed include Van Zant, Allen Collins, Leon Wilkeson, Artimus Pyle, Ed King, Al Kooper, Bob Burns and JoJo Billingsley. Lynyrd Skynyrd is currently on their self-proclaimed farewell tour in North America. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
