At the 33rd annual Farm Aid concert on Saturday, Willie Neslon, John Mellencamp and Neil Young discussed the present state of affairs for the ordinary American family farmer and urged the audience to vote. Nelson, who founded the concert in 1985 for promoting the rights of the nation’s family farmers lamented that not much has changed in the 33 years since the first show; “Because there are a lot of people who don’t care, you know? A lot of people are making a lot of money and big corporations could care less about the small family farmer. In fact, the sooner they get rid of them happier they’ll be,” said Nelson. Mellencamp spoke about the disappearance of protest songs from the radio, saying “our voices have been silent now because big corporations run these radio stations. It’s not left up to an individual to play this song or that song…you’re gonna hear corporate bullsh*t, you’re gonna eat corporate bullsh*t.” Meanwhile, Neil Young, who is a Canadian, urged the Americans among the audience to vote; “Vote for whoever you believe in: If you believe in Trump, vote for Trump. But if you don’t, vote him out! Vote them all out if you don’t believe in them. Whoever you vote for, I respect you for voting.” Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
