John Fogerty plans to celebrate his 50th anniversary in the music industry by going on an expanded worldwide tour. Further details of the tour will be announced soon. Fogerty, together with Doug Clifford, Stu Cook, and his brother Tom Fogerty, founded the band Creedence Clearwater Revival, for which he was the lead singer, lead guitarist and principal songwriter. The band released their eponymous debut album in 1968 and also had their first hit single, “Susie Q”. In 1969, the album Bayou Country was released and “Proud Mary” rose to number 2 on the singles chart. The group had nine top-ten singles and eight gold albums between 1968 and 1972, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. In June, Craft Recordings released the first official video for Creedence Clearwater Revival’s 1969 classic “Fortunate Son,” to mark the celebration of the band’s 50th anniversary.
