Dickey Betts, who was forced to postpone three of his August concerts after he suffered what doctors diagnosed as a “mild stroke,” is ready to return to stage. “Dickey Betts is raring to go. His recovery from his minor stroke is ahead of schedule and he has already started playing his guitar again,” according to a new post on the Dickey Betts Band’s Facebook page. “There will be a minimum of four shows in November including the makeup date for The Hampton Beach Casino. That show will now be November 9th 2018. Tickets are also still available for the rest of the November tour dates.” On August 25, Dickey Betts was forced to postpone three dates of his tour–August 28 at the Great New York State Fair in Syracuse, New York; August 30 at the Toyota Oakdale Theater in Wallingford, Connecticut; and August 31 at the Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. Betts, a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, had experienced what his doctors called a “mild stroke.” His physicians strongly advised that he give himself more time to recuperate. Joining Betts in the current lineup of his band are his son Duane Betts on guitar, bassist Pedro Arevalo, drummers Frankie Lombardi and Steve Camilleri as well as guitarist Damon Fowler and keyboardist Mike Kach.
