U2 frontman Bono is among a number of musicians who contributed to French conceptual artist Sophie Calle’s new LP paying tribute to her dead cat, Souris. The 37-track album Souris Calle debuted during her solo show at Galerie Perrotin in Paris last week. It came four years after the death of Calle’s favorite cat. Rock singer Laurie Anderson first wrote a song to honor the kitty. The album also features music from Michael Stipe and Pharrell Williams. The album opens with an ode from Bono: “She seems to hide all looks that have ever fallen into her/ So that like an audience she can look them over/ Menacing and sullen, curls asleep with them/ Then all at once, as if awakened/ She turns her face to yours/ And with a shock you see yourself/ Tiny, inside the golden amber of her eyeballs.” Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com.
