Neil Young was awarded the 2018 Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize. Young has received the award for his 1969 album Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere. Classic albums by eight Canadian artists, including Rush, Alanis Morissette, Young, Kid Koala, Broken Social Scene, Bruce Cockburn, Jean-Pierre Ferland and Dream Warriors, have been honored with the 2018 Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize. Rush’s landmark 1976 concept album 2112 was selected to receive the Heritage Prize. “Congratulations to all the winning artists. You’ve created important memorable recordings that have had a lasting impact on the musical landscape.
