Yoko Ono will open the Manchester international festival in July next year with a performance of her “Bells for Peace.” Around 8,000 members of the public will form an orchestra of bells in Manchester’s Cathedral Gardens. Ono stated, “The beauty of this piece will break the sky and more. More than ever, we must come together to heal each other, and the world. Peace is power!” A Dystopia987 performance by MC Skepta and a musical theatre collaboration by Idris Elba and Kwame Kwei-Armah featuring music from Elba’s 2014 album Mi Mandela are the other highlights of the festival. The next edition of the Manchester International Festival, which is a biennial music event, will run from July 4 to July 21. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
