Creedence Clearwater Revival’s performance at the iconic 1969 Woodstock Music and Arts Fair, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this August, is set to be released this year. Creedence drummer Doug “Cosmo” Clifford has revealed that the band’s full set will likely be released this year in conjunction with the anniversary. “We fought for 50 years over [releasing the performance], and now it looks like it’s finally.gonna be out there,” Clifford told ABC Radio. “So, I’m excited about that, and hopefully the fans will be excited about it as well.” Meanwhile, Clifford did not reveal whether both audio and video of Creedence’s Woodstock set would be released. The band’s performance was not included in the Oscar-winning 1970 documentary film about the historic festival. Rolling Stone has listed the Woodstock festival at number 19 of the 50 Moments That Changed the History of Rock and Roll. In his autobiography Fortunate Son, Creedence frontman John Fogerty admitted that he vetoed having the band included in the movie, as he wasn’t happy with the group’s overall performance. However, Clifford differs from his stance, saying, “I’m sorry that we weren’t in the movie. That wasn’t my decision.
