ZZ Top have announced plans to perform three shows in their home state of Texas this May in celebration of the band’s 50th anniversary. The 50th Anniversary Texas Bash will feature special concerts in three cities: Dallas on May 17, Houston on May 18 and Austin on May 19. Cheap Trick and Bad Company will provide support for ZZ Top during the shows. Tickets for the concerts go on sale to the general public this Friday, February 1, at 10 a.m. local time. Pre-sale tickets for members of ZZ Top’s Tres Hombres fan club will be available starting Tuesday, January 29, at 10 a.m. local time. “It’s been five decades, and I think we’re starting to get pretty good at this!” said ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons. “We’re just as excited to be back in Texas this May playing our bluesy kind of rock as when started with in ’69.” “Those three Texan hombres, aka ZZ Top, are celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year so Bad Company is going to join them and the fans to mark the occasion; hang on to your hats and heels!” said Bad Company singer Paul Rodgers.
