Gary Oldman, the Oscar and Golden Globe-winning actor, is set to provide the narration for a new David Bowie Is mobile app. The app is a digital adaptation of the touring museum exhibition honoring the late musician. The immersive exhibition David Bowie Is drew over 2 million visitors across 12 cities. The AR app will be available on iOS and Android platform and will be out on January 8, which is Bowie’s birthday. The app will be priced at $7.99. “This brings the amazing David Bowie is exhibition to a wider audience. It’s great that his fans get to experience it. It was a privilege to be involved,” Oldman said in a statement. Oldman was a close friend of Bowie, with both of them first meeting in the late ’80’s. Having both been born and bred in South London, they had a lot in common. They appeared together in Julian Schnabel’s 1996 film, Basquiat, and Oldman starred as a priest in Bowie’s controversial 2013 video for “The Next Day.” Copyright(c) 2019 RTTNews.com.
