Queen frontman Freddie Mercury considered forming a supergroup along with Elton John and Rod Stewart. According to Austrian filmmaker Rudi Dolezal, the idea to form a supergroup was discussed when Mercury, John and Stewart were all in attendance at a dinner party. “Freddie invited me to his private functions often, and, at one dinner party, the guests included Rod Stewart and Elton John. I remember there was a lot of bitching about other artists, and about themselves,” Dolezal told the New York Post. He added, “I think Rod came up with the idea of forming a group called Nose, Teeth & Hair, because Rod had a big nose, Elton had problems with his hair and Freddie had his teeth! Dolezal had directed Mercury in his final on-camera appearance in the music video for “These Are the Days of Our Lives” in 1991. Bohemian Rhapsody, a biopic on Queen and Mercury, recently became the highest grossing music biopic of all time domestically, internationally and worldwide. The biopic has already collected more than $700 million at the global box office. The movie also took home two major prizes at this year’s Golden Globe Awards, including best film drama and best drama actor for Rami Malek, who portrayed Mercury. Copyright(c) 2019 RTTNews.com.
